This infographic is brought to you by QuickQuid

Introduction:

It’s not often that we get an interactive infographic in the Maze inbox so it was a pleasant surprise to receive this from the guys at QuickQuid.co.uk. The infographic breaks down various consumer loans in the UK and gives an interactive running total of the amount of debt UK consumers would have accumulated just while reading the infographic.

Information: ★★★

The information presented in quite extensive and provides an in-depth look at the state of UK consumer loans with statistics about UK personal loans and residential loans. There is a slider which the user can move between 2005 and 2012 which looks at the changes in Consumer Lending Growth, Consumer Loans, Mortgage Lending and Average Loan Approvals for Houses.

Further down the infographic and we are presented with a second slider which allows the user to see what consumers have been borrowing money for and how these borrowing patterns have changed between 2007 and 2011.

Design: ★★★

The design is clever and props must be given to the designer for incorporating the interactive running total and two sliders to make this infographic a little more interesting that the usual static versions we are used to.

However, there is one issue and that is the infographic is too big which makes it difficult to use the slider and see the changes on the screen as you are using it. The sections should have been smaller to cater for this.

Creativity: ★★★★

When you are discussing statistics like this that change over time it can be difficult to condense all of the information into one infographic. The use of the sliders has alleviated this problem and therefore the concept is very creative in execution.

Conclusion:

All in all a very good infographic from the guys at QuickQuid. With the average personal debt sitting at £4,219 it’s no wonder that quick cash loan services like this have taken off in recent years. My only suggestion would be to make sure that when using sliders you can actually see the information change in the same screen so that you don’t have to scroll up and down each time you want to make changes.
